Liked my 9 nights stay. It was a decent size, comfy and with balcony. The location was wonderful, near to the centre, the beach, shopping area and Peniscola castle and many reataurants to choose from.

Comfy, large beds; central location near historic town centre and beach; pleasant reception staff; modern bathrooms with good showers; rooms with large, flat-screen TVs. Jaw-dropping views towards the castle, modern and fresh design. Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Very thoughtful surprise for a birthday celebration. Amazing location, short walk to castle and lots of restaurants nearby. Wonderful breakfast buffet with a view. Staff spoke English and were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful resort with rich history and great range of bars and restaurants.

The staf were very friendly and efficient. The location was excellent,
We would have liked to have our car nearer to us as we were on long journey and could not take everything into the hotel. We had to use a public car park, which we could not see from the hotel. The position of the door into reception was not in a very convenient place and we were wet from the driving rain when we got into the hotel. We were also disappointed with the breakfast, where we found stale cornflakes, served from open bowls, which anyone could have coughed or sneezed into! It would have been good to have some fruit, such as prunes, or grapefruit.

The position of the hotel is very good, right by a great beach and with great views to the castle on its spectacular peninsular. Rooms we clean and up to the quality expected from a 3 star hotle in Spain. Some staff seemed to try very hard to ensure everything was ok and were wellcoming
The hotel seems to lack any understanding of guest needs. The inital receptionist (male) was at best "cool" at worst dismissive, hardly bothered to speak at all. However to be fair, the femail receptionist was excellent, even offereing to translate the menu for us before we went in for dinner. The hotel was cold throughout, so cold that guest were obliged to put on fleece to eat their dinner. We had to eat in the cafe, in which the locals were enjoying a televised football match and constantly walking between the tables to the toilets, much to the chagin of the waitress ( who was the only other positive memeber of staff). The food was very lack luster, to say the least. Dinner was the Menu del Dia, a very poor selection with little variation, or taste. Breakfast, which had been advertised as a buffet was really a continental breakfast that you served your self. There was very little choice on the first day we stayed, but even less on the second. There were coisants and pan aux choclate, but these were cheap cake types not real pastries, very poor and stale. Again we ate in a cold, noisy public cafe. We felt really sorry for the two femail members of staff who where trying to do a good job. However the hotel mamagment had decided to cut down staff, so one did a 16 hour day ( and still managed to smile!!!) and the other tried to manage reception and the cafe bar, which was at the other end of the hotel. The result was that the main hotel door were looked, meaning that we had to enter by the cafe bar, which bothered us greatly as we had our dog with us and felt this was unhygenic. Our overall impression of the hotel is that is wants to save cash and has dropped its levle of service. This is very short termism, but I suspect that in a great resort such as Penisicola it will still get many new guests, but one wonders how many will return

The location is perfect for visiting the town of Peniscola. Reception staff spoke English which may be of help to some folk. Breakfast was basic but fair. Rooms were clean. Overall the hotel side was ok.
Was very dissapointed when they allowed smoking in the public bar even tho it is forbidden in Spain in public areas. We visited the bar on the evening and was overcome with smoke... we thought this was a thing of the past in Spain but obviously not. The sooner the owners get fined for allowing it the better, and it is not just in this bar...
